A sheriff’s deputy of Minnesota is being prosecuted after video surveillance showed the man beating his K9 partner Boone stupidly.
An 18-year-old veteran of the Ramsey County Sheriff, Brett Arthur Berry, was at the Black Bear Casino in Carlton, Minnesota, to attend a K9 training and certification session with his 4-legged partner. At one point during the training, Berry took Boone out, grabbed the dog by the neck and threw him on the floor, showed the video.
After Boone was knocked down, he returned to the casino but ended up between two sliding doors. At that time, Berry was filmed several times beating the helpless beast. The local police were called into the casino at about three in the morning to watch the disturbing video surveillance and to report their findings to the Berry Police Department.
Ramsey Sheriff's office removed Berry from the training session and gave him administrative leave. Boone has been removed from Berry's care and taken to a veterinarian. He was not injured after the exam. Berry is now faced with two charges, one for animal abuse and one for attacking a public security dog.
If he is found guilty, he faces 3 months in jail a fine of $ 1,000 for each offense. Watch the video above to have more information.
